All products supplied by Caliper Research are intended strictly for laboratory research use only. They are not drugs, foods, cosmetics or dietary supplements and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. They are not for human or veterinary use, and must not be administered to humans or animals under any circumstance.
This designation is not a formality. It defines what the material is, how it may lawfully be supplied, and what may and may not be said about it by Caliper Research Labs LLC or by any purchaser.
No regulatory approval
No product listed on this website is approved or cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration, or by any equivalent authority in any other jurisdiction, for human or veterinary use. No product is manufactured under pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice for human administration.
Statements made on this website have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Nothing on this website is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition in humans or animals.

Descriptions of research applications on this website summarize areas in which a compound appears in published preclinical or in-vitro scientific literature. They are provided as laboratory reference information only.
They are not claims of efficacy, safety, bioavailability or suitability for any purpose, and they must not be interpreted as implying that any compound has any effect in humans or animals. Where a research area is described, the description characterizes what has been studied — not what has been established.
Scope of supply and support
Caliper Research Labs LLC supplies reference standards for in-vitro analytical laboratory testing. That is the entire scope of what is sold here and the entire scope of what the company will comment on.
Within that scope our technical team can discuss purity, identity, stability, solubility, storage requirements and analytical specifications, and can help reconcile an analytical result that disagrees with the certificate supplied for a lot. These are properties of the material and of the measurement.
Questions outside analytical laboratory testing fall outside this scope. They are not within what a reference-standard supplier may lawfully address, and Caliper does not address them.
Purchaser responsibilities
By purchasing from this website you affirm that:
- You are at least 21 years of age.
- You are a qualified research professional, or you are purchasing on behalf of a research institution.
- The materials will be used solely for legitimate in-vitro laboratory research.
- You will not administer the materials to humans or animals under any circumstance.
- You will not resell, transfer or redistribute the materials for non-research use.
- You will handle, store and dispose of the materials in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local law and with your institution's safety policies.
- You accept sole responsibility for the safe and lawful handling of the materials on delivery.
These affirmations are a condition of sale and are the basis on which the transaction is lawful.
Limitation of liability
Materials are supplied without warranty of any kind beyond conformity to the specification stated on the certificate of analysis for the lot delivered. Caliper Research Labs LLC disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Caliper Research Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from the purchase, handling, storage, use or misuse of any material supplied, and any liability is limited to the purchase price of the material in question.
Misuse of research materials — including administration to humans or animals — is a violation of the terms of sale and of applicable law. Responsibility for such misuse rests entirely with the purchaser.
Handling and safety
Research chemicals should be handled only by trained personnel in an appropriate laboratory setting with suitable personal protective equipment. Avoid inhalation of lyophilized powder, skin and eye contact, and ingestion.
Store as directed on the product page and certificate of analysis. Dispose of unused material and consumables in accordance with applicable regulations and institutional policy.
